Why Teddy Day is celebrated?
Teddy Day is celebrated in honor of the late President Theodore Roosevelt who, like most archconservatives, believed that the government was a necessary evil and in fact an integral part of society. He wanted to make sure that everyone received opportunity as well as security and fought for these values throughout his career as a politician and public servant.
In the United States,
Teddy Day celebrates the birth of Theodore Roosevelt, who took on a range of
outdoor and conservation-related projects. While he hunted and hunted, his
favourite game was negotiation - he would travel to all parts of the continent
in search of their best locations for various causes that had been championed
by other activists: conservationism is one of them.
The first time that
Teddy Roosevelt was appointed as President was on this day in 1901, marking the
beginning of his legacy. This museum is celebrating the day his legacy
continued with the creation of Teddy Day and its mission to “inspire every
child to learn about history, good values, science and technology.”
On 9 February 2015,
the date was chosen because of the date of the first meeting between Teddy
Roosevelt and President Taft on 10 February 1910.
